Top 10 Dog Friendly Locations in Plymouth
- Seco Lounge, Royal William Yard – good coffee, great atmosphere, very dog friendly!
- Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park, Torpoint – technically in Cornwall but part funded by Plymouth City Council! Fantastic walks around the Park with superb views looking back towards Plymouth, lots of off-lead walking along the paths, down by the beach and in the woodland.
- Jolly Jacks – fun, friendly and fabulous food!
- El Cafe, The Hoe – the best bacon butties with a view in Plymouth!
- South West Coast Path – walk from Royal William Yard to Jennicliff via The Barbican and Mount Batten – lots of great views and landmarks along the way http://www.southwestcoastpath.com/walksdb/13/
- National Trust – Saltram, Plym Bridge and Buckland Abbey estate walks – wonderful dog friendly walks in and around Plymouth. Please note charges apply to non-members for access to Saltram and Buckland Abbey estate walks http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/local-to-you/south-west/
- Brooke Inn, Plympton – recently re-opened under new management! I’ve not visited myself yet, but great recommendations on Doggy Devon
- Plymouth Parks – Central Park and Devonport Park – beautiful green open spaces in the middle of the City, easy to find a bit of peace and quiet when walking your four-legged friend!
- Dartmoor – just fifteen minutes outside of Plymouth and with miles and miles of moorland to explore!
- The Flower Cafe, The Barbican – Michelle’s cakes are just scrummy! Enjoy a slice with a cuppa whilst sitting in their pretty little courtyard (try the Lemon Drizzle – it’s my absolute favourite!)
*Dog friendly at time or writing – business owners reserve the right to change their policy (we hope they don’t, but they can!)
**Doggy Devon promotes responsible dog ownership – please always that ensure your dog has adequate identification (collar, tag and preferably microchipped), is under your control at all times (especially on moorland around livestock) and that you always scoop the poop.
