Ella Eyre, Professor Green and R3WIRE & VARSKI will complete the line-up for day one of MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds, part of the MTV Presents series, on Thursday 26 July. The event will be headlined by indie pop titans, Bastille, who will perform a full 90-minute set to the crowd on Plymouth Hoe.
Singer songwriter Ella Eyre sprung onto the scene in 2012 and is now the deserving owner of two MOBO Awards, a Brit Award and a Top 10 album.
Her collaboration with Rudimental on ‘Waiting All Night’ hit the number one spot in 2013. More recently, she’s worked with Sigala on ‘Came Here for Love’ and Ty Dolla Sign on ‘Ego’.
With a huge fan base and ever growing popularity Ella recently appeared on Channel 4’s Stand up to Cancer Great Celebrity Bake Off and has a number of international tour dates in her diary for 2018.
Ella released her latest single ‘Answerphone’ on 16 March, and is excited to play to the Plymouth crowd: “I can’t wait to come and perform at MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds. Plymouth Hoe is an amazing location, overlooking the sea and I’m really looking forward to a bit of sea, sunshine and singing with the crowds!”
British rapper Professor Green will also be taking to the stage. With three albums under his belt, his popular singles include ‘Read All About It’, ‘Jungle’ and ‘Lullaby’ and he’s collaborated on tracks with everyone from Lily Allen and Emeli Sandé to The Streets. He released his latest single, ‘Unruly’, in February.
Professor Green said: “I’ve performed in Plymouth a few times, it’s a great city and the location is incredible. I’m excited to join the MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds line-up in July to perform and share some new tracks from my forthcoming ep.”
Club MTV favourites R3WIRE & VARSKI will also be returning this year, getting the night off to a great start. The DJ duo will be sure to get everyone dancing and can’t wait to return to Britain’s Ocean City: “We love performing in Plymouth and are so excited to come back for 2018 to get the crowds jumping and make Plymouth Hoe party central on 26 July.”
Ocean City Sounds will be broadcast as part of the ‘MTV Presents’ series – which will also include Gibraltar Calling and Varna Beach in Bulgaria. A highlights show ‘MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds’ will be broadcast on MTV in August.
